for decennia IHC Dredgers delivers vessels of proven and outstanding long-term operational quality. Not only the processes and facilities mentioned elsewhere on this site contribute, but also the policy of sticking to a framework of securing two determining factors:

alignment and stability of the hull under all circumstances
integration of all on board systems in the commissioning process

Therefore, incorporated in the ISO 9001 quality management procedures (see company profile), IHC Dredgers devotes much effort to those factors.

During the whole building process a specialist measuring team constantly monitors dimensions, tolerances, welding quality and alignment of the vessel on the slipway - on cold and hot days. After launch of the vessel and the subsequent alignment of for all machinery in the water, they again monitor this and keep a vigilant eye on the stability trials.

The commissioning team consists of both craftsmen and operational experienced people such as guarantee engineers and guarantee dredge masters. Supported by the planning department and their experience with almost every operational situation, they thorougly test all the vessel's subsystems - not alone for the nominal working of any of them - but especially for their integrated working and their usefulness in operations and emergency cases - which are simulated both during the basin trials and the sea trials. They motivate suppliers to contribute to a fullness instead of delivering separate parts. In this way, our suppliers grow with us. In effect, IHC Dredger vessels usually work flawless from day one.
