Kinderdijk Shipyard facilities

Facilities

The IHC Dredgers shipyard in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands, features ultramodern facilities and machinery, focused on quality, efficiency and worker satisfaction. This includes, among others:

  • Integrated panel production, section building and covered slipway since 1971
  • 2 completion quays
  • Suitable for the building of hopperdredgers up to 30,000 m3

Machinery and equipment

The machinery and equipment includes the common equipment for a modern shipyard, such as thermic and plasma cutting machines, hydraulic presses and folding machines, welding robots and adjacent equipment. It is well enough to maintain a constant high quality and output.

The future: growth

We are seriously preparing for the internationalisation of our activities. Once having said this, we also feel - and prove time and again - that we can build competitively at our own yard. For that reason we never cease investments.

Currently we are in the process of building a brand-new lean panel production line in which flexible working cells, mobile robot stations, welding robots and totally integrated CAD and robot software will considerably increase our production output. It will simultaneously bring more space in the integrated section hall/slipway for the increase of production and improvement of processes there. In summary: we are prepared to cope with the expected growth, both international and internal.
