Standard TSHD

Beneficial standardisation

IHC Dredgers successfully combines innovation with standardisation for reasons of quality, cost and maintainability of the vessels. Smart configuration leaves much room for customer preferences, comparable to option selectability in the automotive industry.

Examples are the Eurotrail TSHDs of the 1980s, boasting 7 operational units within few years. The Chinatrail has been developed for specific working conditions. The European dredging fleet was enriched in the last years with 6 basic and 2 extended vessels of the successful PALLIETER range with one-man operated bridges.

The BEAGLE: extremely cost-effective TSHD

As a technology innovator and a good listener to market feedback, IHC Dredgers has committed itself to extended its product range with smaller standard trailing suction hopper dredgers for the lower and middle market segments. The first in this series of extremely cost-effective medium vessels has been christened the BEAGLE and is the product of years of building experience and the optimisation of the operational process.
The basic model is a simple 85 metre-long TSHD with a hopper capacity of about 4,000m3 and shallow draught. The ship can e.g. be used in maintenance dredging or land reclamation. More information ....

A large number of features can be provided as options, such as Wild Dragon® dragheads, larger hopper capacities or degassing installations. So every customer can configure the BEAGLE to operational requirements and working conditions.

All Beagles come with a Green Passport, environmental certificate and the affirmation of being a ‘clean ship’, due to the low emissions and energy consumption. Life Cycle Support is an integral part of the delivery. The early feedback from the market has been very positive and hopeful for the future.
